International Walk to School Day takes place at both McParland Main Site and Annex. Schools around the world are participating in WALK-TO-SCHOOL during the month October.
Walk, bike, skip or hop to school... but don't drive!
S.H.A.P.E. and Nutritional Services are are joining up with thousands of other schools nationwide / worldwide for International Walk to School Day. Once again, McParland School will be participating in this exciting event and we hope that all families will do their best to WALK TO SCHOOL. Help promote safer streets, healthier students, stronger communities, and a cleaner environment.
Participating students must walk to school and stop at one of the following checkpoints to receive a sticker for a complimentary nutritious breakfast in the school cafeteria after the walk. Each student must have a sticker to receive a complimentary breakfast.
Checkpoints will open at 8:00am, breakfast service will close at 8:50am for the Main Site and 9:00am for the Annex.

MAIN SITE checkpoints
1) London & Northgate
2) London & Picadilly
3) Northgate & Bridgeport
4) Back entrance to school
If you live in one of the areas that are too far for your child to walk, you may drop them off at one of the checkpoints and they can walk to school from there. The school buses are unable to drop off students at the checkpoints.
VOLUNTEERS are needed at both sites. (7:45am) Volunteers are needed at the above checkpoints to pass out stickers for the complimentary breakfast. If you can assist, please e-mail us or leave a message at the school office for a coordinator to get back to you. THANK YOU!
